• For use with: half round curved roof ridge tiles, Half-round chimney pot covers, Curved concrete coping on the top of parapet walls
• The Defender® Curved Ridge Spike will deter both pigeons and seagulls from sitting on top of the roof as the pins are extra long to account for the long legs of a seagull, whilst also deterring pigeons and other like-sized birds.
• The bird spike base has specially designed integral curved anti-topple stabilisers which extend from the base on either side to give stability to the strip. If the ridge tiles are angular, you will need the Defender® Ridge Spikes.
• Viewed straight on, the Defender® Curved Ridge Spike has 4 rows of pins fanning out, so will easily protect the whole of the curved tile and will deter the most determined bird from attempting to come in from the top or side to land.
• They are a humane deterrent that will provide both a visual and physical deterrent to birds landing and perching on the roof. The Curved Ridge Spike base and stabilisers can be easily glued into position on the roof tile.

Description

  • This ridge spike has a base specifically designed to sit securely on half-round curved ridge tiles. If you have an angled, triangular ridge tile, the Defender® Angled Ridge Spikes is the best option.
  • The ridge on a roof is the favourite perching place of pigeons and seagulls. It is the perfect place to check for danger and available food sources. Most flocks will have a preferred roof to base themselves on during the day, particularly if a neighbour feeds the birds at specified times of the day or the nearby takeaway puts the rubbish out. Seagulls and pigeons have learnt to look out for these events and will be ready to swoop.
  • Many ridge tiles are shaped in a half-round, semi-circular shape and this is what the Defender Curved Ridge Spike is specifically designed for. It has integral anti-topple stabilisers on either side so the spikes stay firmly in place with no movement or slippage while the adhesive cures

Specially Designed Anti-topple System

  • The curves in the anti-topple stabilisers ensure that once the spikes have been siliconed into place on the half-round roof tile, there is no movement or slippage. Even the most persistent bird will not be able to shift these spikes off the tiles.
  • The curve of the anti-topple stabilisers gives a close fit to the shape of the tiles and means that during installation, the bird spikes will sit on the ridge without moving out of place. This makes an install at height a much easier job.
  • If the ridge tiles have an triangular shaped top, there is a specially shaped ridge tile spike, Defender® Ridge Spike which can be used instead.
